NATIONAL CITY, CA – For two days only, an ice skating rink is coming to National City this winter. The National City Tourism Marketing District (NCTMD) and National City Chamber of Commerce will offer a 40’ x 26’ rink at Morgan Square (901 National City Boulevard, National City, 91950) that will open on Thursday, December 10th, and Friday, December 11th, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (weather permitting).
“National City has no indoor or outdoor ice skating options for the community, so this is a unique recreational experience that will bring more visitors to our city,” said Jacqueline Reynoso, CEO of the National City Chamber of Commerce. “We are proud to start this tradition as part of a year-round offering of a variety of entertainment for National City.”
Admission to the rink is FREE in the spirit of the Holidays. This includes skate rental and skating time for guests. The holiday decorated ice skating rink will include great music, tasty snacks, and hot and cold beverages for winter revelers under the glow of holiday lights.
Visitors are also invited to bring their family and friends to celebrate the 8th Annual Christmas on Brick Row (9th Street & A Ave.) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10th. Santa Claus and the Ice Queen will be available for pictures along with a children’s craft area, face-painting, live musical and dance performances, free museum tours, delicious food and beverages for sale.
The National City Chamber of Commerce will also open its doors to showcase an annual art exhibit in the Chamber’s conference room. The art gallery will feature a collection of work from various independent community artists. Meet renowned Chicano Park muralists, Mario Torero and Armando Nunez.
