ICE SKATE NATIONAL CITY & HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING IN KIMBALL PARK

National City, CA – The City of National City, the National City Chamber of Commerce and the National City Tourism Marketing District (NCTMD) invites the public to the 9th Annual Holiday Celebration at Kimball Park.  The four-night celebration takes place from Thursday, December 15, to Sunday, December 18, in Kimball Park (E. 12th St, National City 91950) and is free to the public.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Thursday, December 15 Main event & activities 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Tree Lighting Ceremony 6:15 p.m.
FREE Ice Skating 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Friday, December 16 FREE Ice Skating 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Saturday, December 17 FREE Ice Skating 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Sunday, December 18 FREE Ice Skating 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.

 

In addition to free ice skating, live music and dance performances, food vendors, and kid’s activities, Thursday’s inaugural night events include a photo opportunity with guest stars Santa Claus and a special surprise guest from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  The annual tree lighting countdown takes place at 6:15 p.m.

The National City Police Department and Rady Children’s Hospital’s Safe Routes to School program will hold a bike rodeo where children can learn about bike safety and enter a free raffle to win a bike and helmet.  The San Diego Gulls will be in attendance, and Disney on Ice will be handing out complimentary show tickets, while supplies last.

“Thanks to the support of National City’s hotels and Paradise Valley Hospital, we are pleased to present the second annual celebration with free ice skating to the public,” said Jacqueline Reynoso, Executive Director of the National City Chamber of Commerce.
